TDE is searching for an Instrumentation, Electrical, Controls Manager to be responsible for leading a group of in house instrumentation, controls and electrical technologists / engineers in the timely and accurate completion of instrumentation, controls and electrical engineering, design, deliverables as well as purchasing, shop and start up support needs for TDE manufactured of oil & gas processing equipment. The IEC Manager must provide leadership in the development and maintenance of instrumentation, controls and electrical standards, practices and department tools that will enhance team efficiency and cross discipline work execution. The IEC Manager may act as a lead to support instrumentation, control or electrical scope on projects. Close cooperation is expected with all TDE multi discipline managers. Responsibilities: * Plan, supervise and coordinate a team of instrumentation, controls and electrical technologists, engineers and design drafting staff. * Plan and coordinate subcontracted ICE studies, engineering or design work to support projects. * Ensure the completeness and accuracy of work performed by the ICE departments as well outside subcontractors. * Reviewing and adherence to TDE or Client specifications applicable for instrumentation, control and electrical scope of projects. * Resource allocation and planning for the ICE departments in conjunction with the Engineering Manager and TDE’s planning and scheduling department. * Ensure all required ICE design deliverables are provided to other departments in a timely manner in order to maintain the project flow and schedule. * Provide high level engineering guidance to the ICE departments based on accumulated experience with instrumentation, control and electrical systems and devices. * Perform duties associated with ICE discipline lead on projects when assigned. * Responsibility for the accuracy of estimates and designs proposed for TDE’s instrumentation, control and electrical systems forming part of equipment proposals offered to clients. * Ongoing development and updating of the ICE estimating templates to support proposals. * Selecting and assigning appropriate resources for field construction, commissioning and start up either. * Manage the development of TDE ICE departments design standards and tools and communicate and train ICE staff on the application of standards or tools that are implemented. * Leading the development of reference material for the ICE departments to improve efficiency. * Acting as a client liaison for the scope of instrumentation, controls and electrical on projects. * Project coordination and liaison with other disciplines. * Participating in Client meetings as necessary. * Participating in Engineering Planning Meetings. Qualifications: * At least 7 + years in a leadership role. * At least 10 + years of experience in a related industry and scope of work. * Technical Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalency. * ASET or APEGA designation. * Proficient knowledge of industry best practices * Proficient in the sizing, selection and application of use of instrumentation for process plant applications. * Proficient in the design of electrical systems including power, lighting, controls, communications, grounding, fire alarm. * Proficient knowledge of ICE manufacturers and the products they offer. * Proficient at estimating the ICE portion of process equipment packages. * Conducting a bid analysis for selection of the appropriate ICE vendor. * Inspecting equipment when received as required. * Preparation of written sections for ICE scope for equipment proposals. * Preparing certificates of compliance and CSA certification documents. * Testing and commissioning instrument equipment when required for a project. * Managing and reviewing ICE drawings and deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance to project scope. * Coordinating ICE drawings and deliverables with other disciplines. * Determining control strategy to be utilized on TDE process equipment designs. * Working knowledge of configuration requirements and programming for industry standard PLC and DCS systems. * Working knowledge of configuration and development of industry standard Man Machine Interface (MMI) programs. * Practical knowledge of industry standards for MMI graphics, trends, alarms, logs and screen hierarchies. * Coordinating FATs that are performed on completed skid packages. * Site construction, commissioning and startup as required for projects. * Participating in resolution of on-site problems. * Good understanding of financial metrics. * Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines. * Demonstrate an ability to prioritize activities and stay focused in a dynamic ever changing environment. * Knowledge of MS Word & Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and other ICE specific software programs.
