Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various electrical systems and possess a strong understanding of electrician practices.
Responsibilities:
Installation: Install electrical components within fire protection systems, such as fire alarms, smoke detectors, emergency lighting, and fire suppression systems.
Maintenance:
Perform regular inspections and maintenance to ensure that electrical systems within fire protection equipment are functioning properly. This involves testing circuits, checking for faulty wiring, replacing equipment, etc.
Troubleshooting:
Responsible for diagnosing the problem and implementing solutions to resolve it quickly and efficiently.
Compliance:
Ensuring all electrical work performed within fire protection systems meets industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations. This includes staying up to date on the latest codes and regulations related to electrical installations in fire protection systems and ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with the requirements.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed, including installation, maintenance and repairs. This is important for tracking the history of the system, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing information for future maintenance and inspections,
Requirements:
- Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license required -4th year apprentices will be considered.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting schematics
- Experience in electrical construction work preferred - --Fire protection industry experience an asset, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team efficiently

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
