Our offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. As innovation at CIMA+ is part of the overall vision, our growing teams are called upon to produce engineering drawings for various disciplines, in 2D and 3D, to carry out our projects for multiple disciplines/sectors including Energy T&D, Stations electrical, P&C, Telecom, and others.
As market leaders in the design of power transmission and distribution (T&D) power systems in Canada, our growing team is called upon to produce innovative and efficient designs. You will be joining a highly specialized engineering design team that is focused on meeting the growing electricity demand while implementing clean energy projects for a sustainable future.
The candidate will be part a team of technical drafters to support all T&D engineering initiatives at CIMA+ in British Columbia and potentially to other provinces. This is a position based in Vancouver, BC.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Work and collaborate with engineers, designers and other professionals in producing (create/revise) detailed CAD drawings (Autodesk series, 2D and 3D), such as plans, surveys, grading, details, elevations, sections, views, workflows, underground & overhead layouts, permit drawings, schematics and wiring diagram;
* Create bill of materials, nameplate, cable, bolt & duct schedules and various structure data sheets;
* Ability to multitasking or prioritize and balance multiple projects to meet project schedules;
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring adherence of our engineering; drawing deliverables to our client’s standards and requirement;
* Interpersonal skills in collaborating within the team;
* Critical thinking, ability to solve and create solutions;
* Prepare complete deliverable packages for designers/engineers;
* Fast learner to new programs and different platforms;
* Possible field site visits.
Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technology or equivalent Certification;
* Minimum 2 years experience in construction and as-built projects in civil, structural, mechanical or in electrical industry/utilities & telecommunication systems;
* Proficiency with AutoCAD;
* In-depth knowledge in 2D/3D CAD drafting;
* Experience in manual drafting;
* Excellent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel);
* Good computing skills;
* Knowledge in MicroStation, Revit, Civil 3D or Inventor is an asset;
* Knowledge in customization programming for AutoCAD is an asset;
* Knowledge of Safety design codes.
The expected salary for this position is from $43,000 to $49,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
