Job Description
Are you an Electrician with Journeyperson certification who enjoys solving puzzles, tracing problems, and creating solutions? Reporting to the Department Supervisor, this position will provide electrical support and expertise to some of the largest mobile mining equipment in the world. You will employ logic and deductive reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting. This position is in Gahcho Kue, NT
The shift rotation for this role is 14x14. Flights and housing are available.
The hourly rate for this position is $64.44 per hour. Additional premiums may be available.
Reporting to the Department Supervisor, this position will provide electrical support and expertise to some of the largest mobile mining equipment in the world. You will employ logic and deductive reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Supporting both customers and other trades people in the resolution, component repair/rebuild, haul truck/shovel repair, and equipment assembly/repair issues in the effective troubleshooting of equipment.
* Installation of new parts and equipment in accordance with generally accepted industry standards, as well as site specific best practices.
* Performing component failure analysis to improve the operation of installed parts and equipment
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a Electrician, Journeyperson and a minimum of three (3) years of mining experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Other requirements include:
* Experience on Komatsu and Haul Truck equipment
* Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives
* Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and OEM drawings and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts
* Requires a thorough knowledge of maintenance and repair of Komatsu AC Electric Drive Trucks and other Mining equipment
* Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
* Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
* Effective oral and written communication skills
* Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
