SUMMARY
Cascadia Scientific is excited to be adding a Global Technical Services Manager to our team. Cascadia is a clean-tech company and leader in the application of machine learning in the mining industry with clients spanning five continents and including some of the largest mining companies in the world. We deliver an IIOT platform that measures and reports high accuracy fuel consumption in a mining haulage environment and delivers insights to drive efficiencies in operations. Cascadia is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada with employees based in several countries around the world.
The Field Service Manager / Maintenance Manager oversees our global team of field service technicians, and develops a program to significantly improve our deployed equipment availability, and by extension our customer experience. This role is accountable for global deployed equipment health, and will collaborate with senior management to ensure the necessary resources are available and deployed to target >90% equipment availabilitly.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, maintain & evolve a technical services safety program including systems to monitor and document employee compliance, training records and certifications.
* Implement and maintain a system for managing work orders to track and resolve deployed equipment health issues.
* Implement and maintain a system to record failures, root causes and frequencies to support improved hardware and installation reliability.
* Facilitate technician scheduling to balance customer experience, company expense
* Produce and maintain installation manuals, troubleshooting guides etc. including electronic and hydraulic integration diagrams
* Be proactive in finding solutions to equipment failures and work with engineering as necessary to improve quality
* Show continuous improvement towards our goal of achieving > 90% up time of Cascadia Scientific equipment.
* Ensure all relevant information from Cascadia HQ, R&D and admin are communicated to the field services team
* On-board new technical service team members, providing training in all relevant areas of practice with employee safety as the highest priority.
* Supervise, mentor, and evaluate employee performance – Complete Bamboo Evaluations etc.
* Periodically observe employee on-site activities to assess safe practice and compliance with company policies and procedures
* Hold regular meetings to discuss safety, technical issues and company communications
* Perform any technical service installation or troubleshooting tasks when a Field Service Technician is not available.
* Provide first line of support for internal users, account managers and customers for installation related issues
* Provide second-tier support for Cascadia Field Service Technicians
* When required, provide training to customer technicians and mechanics to enable them to maintain Cascadia Scientific Equipment
REQUIREMENTS:
* Degree in Computer, Mechanical, Mining, Electronics, or Industrial Engineering or related field recommended or experience managing remote field crews
* Mining operations experience is strongly recommended
* A leader that can operate successfully within a multidisciplinary team
* Strong communication skills for internal and customer communication
* Strong organizational skills for development and implementation of new corporate systems
* Knowledge of electrical components and wiring
* Knowledge of fuel lines and hydraulic fittings
* Mechanical knowledge of computer systems and heavy equipment
* Safety first attitude
* Advanced level of Spanish would be an asset
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Primarily based in the South Surrey office
* Periodic site visits of 3-7 days will be required
* Must be eligible to travel internationally primarily within North and South America to large mining operations
