PURPOSE: The purpose of the Electrical Quality Control Inspector at Sky Eye is a pivotal role in the successful execution of a diverse range of projects. Performing quality activities following the quality management system established. The Quality Control Inspector will work closely with the Electrical Supervisor, Journeymen Electricians, and Instrumentation Technicians to ensure that project components are constructed to internal/external specifications and code requirements. CHARACTERISTICS: * Analytical, logical thought process and meticulous attention to detail * Take personal responsibility for the quality of work * Positive “can-do” attitude * Integrity * Ability to translate skills and knowledge to others * Ability to communicate with and work with other trades to improve the overall quality of Sky Eye products RESPONSIBILITIES: * Meet with E/I manager or Supervisor after the construction kick-off meeting to review the following: Electrical, Instrumentation, and Mechanical drawings, Project scope and Review customer specs * Build Electrical Quality Form inspection packages for each project * Ensure that installations for hazardous locations are compliant with the Canadian Electrical Code, manufacturer specifications, and all other applicable regulatory bodies and standards. * Capture feedback from construction to improve BOMs/design/standards. * Ensure QC station checklists are filled out and entered in appropriate folders within the current storage platform. * Communicate with shop crews to schedule QC inspections once each stage of construction is completed. * Go through loop checks with the lead of the job. * Work with and communicate with testing to ensure all lessons learned and red lines are captured and relayed to the electrical group. * Ensure red line/as-built drawings are correctly completed and submitted to Project or Products team as soon as possible. * Report all non-compliant drawings, equipment, and installations to the appropriate management team members in Design, Projects, Product, and Electrical. * Relay deficiencies/mistakes to the electrical team in person and via email for everyone to learn from. * Review calibration certificates, and reports to ensure compliance. * Verification of instrumentation tubing and device installation. * Perform basic testing of electrical components prior to Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) testing. * Assist Field Services personnel with FAT testing and troubleshooting when required. * Conduct electrical/instrumentation unit walk-downs with project management and shipping specialist prior to project shipping. * Photograph all electrical components after construction and inspections are complete. * Complete Electrical signoffs at the end of construction and inspections for the client turnover package. * Assist with pre-delivery checklists and shipping when available. * Participate in project lessons-learned meetings or emails. QUALIFICATIONS: * Electrical and/or Instrumentation Journeyperson Red Seal is required. * Minimum of 5 years of experience with inspection work. * Must be able to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner. * Candidates must be proficient in using several types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook) * Knowledge and experience in Hardware installation and pre-commissioning including functional testing. * Construction safe work skills * Familiar and experienced with the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code. * Ability to coach contractors, and project team members and deliver training to front-line workers on QA and E&I work. * Experience working with EHT Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Benefits: * Company events * Dental care * Employee assistance program * Extended health care * On-site parking * Paid time off * RRSP match * Vision care Day range: * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Shift: * Day shift Experience: * Quality Assurance: 2 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
