JOB DESCRIPTION
We’re seeking a collaborative and positive leader to support brand marketing for Amazon Fresh grocery stores. As the Creative Director of Copy, you will own the brand voice for Amazon Fresh and lead copy development for customer-facing materials including in-store signage, paid media, social, Amazon.com, email, direct mail, and private brand packaging.
The ideal candidate is at a Senior Copywriter or ACD level with some mentorship experience, looking to elevate his/her leadership skills at the Creative Director level.
You’ll be working daily with your counterparts in Design, Art Direction and Packaging to deliver marketing campaigns, launch new programs, drive brand awareness, sales, and customer retention for Amazon Fresh.
As a great communicator, you’ll be responsible for building relationships with business partners on both the Amazon and Whole Foods teams and must be able to pivot in the face of fast-paced change. To be successful, the leader in this role must be passionate about messaging strategy and highly skilled at working with multiple stakeholders to create clarity from complexity. You must be able to identify and communicate the key marketing messages in any given project, from brand-building campaigns to tactical promotional messaging.

Responsibilities:
* Oversee copy for marketing and packaging deliverables, including in-store signage, paid media, social, Amazon.com, email, direct mail, and private brand packaging Â
* Interpret complex briefs into clear and concise inputs; provide copy direction to team Â
* Review and provide feedback on copy throughout its development, ensuring copy is brand-aligned, customer-first, and uses consistent voice and tone Â
* Own all copy decisions on a project from beginning to end, prioritizing input from several different teams and stakeholders Â
* Continuously refine Amazon Fresh brand guidelines for voice, tone, and other copy best practices Â
* Lead meetings with Amazon partners; provide expert point of view during messaging debates Â
* Build relationships with Amazon marketing stakeholders to further develop cross-team partnership Â
* Present work to Whole Foods Market and Amazon leadership  Â
* Develop deep understanding of Amazon technology and processes Â
* Partner closely with CDs of Design, Art Direction, and Packaging on projects; encourage cross-team collaboration Â
* Mentor and coach direct reports; set goals , provide feedback, conduct bi-yearly evaluations Â
* Help remove roadblocks for creatives, constantly looking for opportunities to streamline processes and working with Project Management to implement change

Qualifications:
* 2+ years of leadership OR mentor experience managing a copy/creative team
* 6+ years of copywriting experience at a brand or agency Â
* Experience managing the creative copy development process Â
* Experience managing junior writers and building team culture Â
(This Team Member will be required to be located in Austin and report to our office 3 days/week. Remote candidates will not be considered unless able to relocate. Portfolio must be submitted with application in order to be considered).
