Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile Generator Technician who is proficient in the installation, maintenance, diagnosis, repair and load testing of generators across various environments. This position requires a technician capable of adapting to the different needs of each sector, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of power systems tailored to each client's specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, perform emergency services, preventative maintenance, and repairs on generators, enhancing system reliability and performance across diverse settings, including farms, industrial plants, municipal facilities, commercial buildings, and residential areas.
* Conduct thorough diagnostics and troubleshooting for generators, including both diesel and natural-gas powered units.
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in generator systems by testing, measuring and verifying operations of electrical components and systems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
* Program, connect, and troubleshoot transfer switches and synchronizing control systems.
* Execute generator startups and perform load bank tests to assess performance and operational capacity.
* Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients through professional and effective communication.
* Provide sector-specific guidance and training to clients on the optimal use of their generator systems, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
* Maintain meticulous records of service activities and manage an accurate inventory of parts and tools.
* Provide detailed feedback and reports to supervisors regarding service activities and equipment status.
* Respond to emergency calls, particularly during critical operations in any sector.
* Keep up-to-date with technological and regulatory changes in power systems relevant to each sector.
* Participate in additional tasks and responsibilities as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the company's goals.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent; further certification as a Journeyman Electrician with mechanical experience or Mechanic/Heavy duty mechanic with electrical experience is preferred and would be considered an asset.
* Proven track record as a generator technician with broad experience across multiple sectors.
* Strong technical knowledge of diesel and spark ignition engines, electrical schematics, and control systems.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to the diverse needs of different sectors.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with a wide range of clients.
* Strong technical and digital skills, capable of managing digital reporting and inventory systems efficiently.
* Physical ability to handle on-site installations and repairs in various environments.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively across service areas.
Experience:
* Generator Field Service: 2 years (required)
* Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (required)
* Electrical knowledge: 2 years (required)
* Excellent customer service: 1 year (preferred)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $62,400.00-$93,000.00 per year
