Job Description
Position: ELECTRICAL COMMISSIONING ENGINEER
Purpose of the position: Assist the Commissioning manager in the oversight of the Electrical Commissioning activities.
Reports to: Commissioning Manager
REQUIREMENTS
Education Electrical Engineering Bachelor/ University Degree preferred
Experience: 8+ years of related experience
Proven experience with the commissioning of transformers, MCC, Switchgears MT& LV, battery banks, inverters, UPS, compressors.
Specific Certifications Apega Certificate would be an asset
Specific Skills: Coordination, Planning, Communication, Leadership, Analytical, Problem Solving
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities will be as included, but not limited to:
* Supervision of testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems that make up the project. Always following the applicable procedures and standards.
* Coordinate electrical commissioning sub-contractors and vendors including scheduling, document control and site inspections to ensure adherence to management standards.
* Quality Assurance/ Control maintaining logs and verifying all items are correct prior to inspection.
* Manage all documents pertinent to electrical drawings, quotations and scheduling impacts.
* Provide direction on electrical scope and requirements to the suppliers based on specifications included in the procurement agreements.
* Compile and submit completed inspection report in a timely manner
* Communicate issues, questions, or concerns to supervisors and implementing contractor.
* Ensure that the manpower, equipment, tools, materials and design necessary to support your schedule will be available.
* Coach and mentor the Commissioning staff on the project to safe work practices, quality workmanship, productivity and schedule.
* Facilitate daily work planning meetings with the rest of the organization.
* Plan/sequence all craft discipline work in area of responsibility.
* Accountable for productivity and quality targets established for the scope of work within area of responsibility.
* Troubleshooting of issues in regards to engineering, material shortages, construction deficiencies, commissioning issues.
* Manage and drive the Field (Dynamic) Planning process in area of responsibility.
* Attend and participate in commissioning meetings to ensure progress is being communicated across the Project and regularly communicate work progress.
* Perform other related duties as required
