Job Description
POSITION MANDATE
Provides electrical support including, but not limited to, low and high voltage power systems, controls, applications, repairs, installations, maintenance and consulting. Mentors team members on smaller projects. Investigate and solves technical problems. Provides technical direction in support of the project installation activities. Reviews processes and assists in the determination of the optimum process for each client application.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
· Performs assigned electrical and mechanical tasks, on-site or substation maintenance, shutdowns and commissioning efforts.
· Ensures accuracy of installation (inspection, testing, etc.) prior to bringing the system or equipment online.
· Prepares formal documentation regarding testing and commissioning processes.
· Provides field support including connecting systems and equipment, testing, etc.
· Supports the electrical aspects of projects by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving technical problems.
· Provides technical consultation and training to customers.
· Maintains customers’ systems and plants to ensure smooth operation.
· Assists the onsite crew in addressing problems and troubleshooting; oversees corrections/solutions until the problem is resolved.
· Performs onsite tests and assessments using available tools; resolves identified issues by determining best solution and resources.
· Provides support for small to medium project quotations and tender submittals.
· Performs basic project management; tracks and monitors smaller project costs and customer invoicing.
· Responsible for verbal and written communication with clients, suppliers and co-workers.
· Keeps customers informed on innovative technologies as well as technological and industry best practice opportunities that may contribute to their operations.
· Researches and identifies expansion or additions to current system to enhance customers electrical processes.
· Ensures work is completed in a safe manner.
· Communicates with clients, suppliers and customer employees, co-workers including reports, quotes, emails, etc.
· Sells, promotes, and completes core TPS services.
· Promotes on the job safety on all occasions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The position requires an Electrical Engineering Technology diploma or Journeyperson certificate and 1 to 5 years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

JOB SCOPE
Provides electrical advice and services on projects or at customer locations. Requires extensive knowledge and applied skill in dealing with technical problems or requirements, and occasionally mentors others in technical matters. Possesses experience and capability gained through in-depth involvement in electrical assignments and can use this expertise to function independently and proficiently on TPS customer sites or within a TPS department. Routinely addresses situations where the problem is clear, but the solution is not and is expected to apply a broad knowledge of processes specific to their field to resolve them. Holds sole responsibility for own decisions and actions.
Planning often involves coordination of service delivery through others, and integration of service delivery across departments, requiring the establishment of numerous, strong working relations.
EFFORT
Applies the expertise and effective communication skills to resolve issues and provide counsel to customers and/or internal contacts. Exercises the latitude to determine exceptions to standards and recommend process and other improvements based on emerging trends. Attention to detail and the need for concentration over sustained periods are required for several of the tasks assigned. Juggles multiple projects, details, and deadlines. The workload is heavy and constant, and all work involves a deadline. Interruptions are the norm. Innovation is required when solving problems and exploring options. The ability to deal effectively with a wide range of contacts including customers, troubleshoot and make decisions on a variety of day-to-day issues practically and expediently are key factors for success in this position. Provides guidance or work direction to individuals on small projects including assigning work to others and monitoring to ensure that established goals are achieved. Provides feedback and guidance as required, referring recurring professional or behavioral issues to the Team Lead or Supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The incumbent works in an office environment and on customer sites/in customer plants.

Pay: $40.00-$65.00 per hour
