A bit about the roleWyndham City is seeking a Youth Digital Communication & Administration Officer to join our passionate and inspiring team of Youth Services staff to collaborate and engage with the growing population of younger communities.
Your experience working with young people in a community development context will see you excel in developing innovative and effective communication strategies for promoting Youth Services projects, programs, events and activities through digital communications and enhancing Wyndham City Council Youth Services online presence.
Our wider Youth Services team develops and facilitates lots of exciting programs to engage, develop and empower the younger community. As the Youth Digital Communications and Administration Officer, you are responsible for providing high quality internal and external communications and marketing that directly increases awareness, engagement and participation of the programs and services provided by the Youth Services team.
Your experience in outreach activities and youth participation approach will utilise the voices of young people and work with them to create engaging and impactful content to encourage and support young people aged 12 to 25 who live, work, study or recreate in the City of Wyndham using a community engagement approach through digital communications.
Your excellent time management skills and task prioritisation will see you excel in providing in high-quality and efficient general administration support to the Youth Services Administration and Facilities Team and various internal clients.
What you will deliverDevelopment of innovative and effective communication strategies for promoting Youth Services projects, programs, events and activities through digital communications and online presence using youth participation approach.High-quality and efficient general administration support to the Youth Services Administration and Facilities TeamEffective communications planning, delivery and evaluation, working alongside our multidisciplinary teamUpdate, review and develop Youth Services social media accounts ensuring all postings are politically sensitive and align with our Social Media StrategyProvide administrative support and assist in the creation and maintenance of distribution lists, spreadsheets and databases.
What you will bringDiploma in an administrative related discipline or lesser formal qualification with several years relevant experience in multimedia developmentProven skills and experience in youth participation and outreach activities to create engaging content for community development and service delivery promotionProven experience and skills in communications and marketing to develop and enhance Wyndham City’s Youth Services online presence and digital strategyDemonstrated experience in managing and developing online content and databases, including awareness in developments of online technology and online service deliveryAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft applications and relevant social media channelsA current Employee Working with Children Check.
