About The Role
Home Care Workers provide services to our customers who live in their own homes. You will provide high quality care and support services in accordance with the individual needs and wishes of each older person and, in doing so, you will enable them to remain living at home independently.
As a Home Care Worker, you will provide excellent customer service. You will follow the tasks as directed per the Support Plan, such as personal care, general housekeeping and assistance. The role is to deliver services with compassion, integrity and dignity. Demonstrated previous experience in a home care environment essential.
We are looking for proactive, energetic, empathetic individuals to undertake the following tasks;
You will be providing support to clients with domestic assistance duties such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparationYou will assist your clients with personal care support including, showering, toileting and feeding assistanceYou will provide assistance with transportation for your clients to appointments and for shopping and leisure outingsYou will build and maintain strong and effective relationships with clients and their familiesYou will adhere to health and safety guidelines and policies to keep yourself and our clients safe
About You
Essential Requirements
Certificate III in Aged, Community Care or equivalentCurrent driver’s licenseReliable vehicle (including valid registration with minimal 3rd Party Insurance)Consent to undertake the relevant Background ChecksHome care experience

An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote, support and model the Christian values and ethos of The Salvation ArmyMotivation to work with older people living in the community and an understanding of their needs and of consumer directed careStrong customer service focus and good time management skillsAbility to work independently and safely in a client’s homeGood communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English
