About The QuoinThe Quoin is a private property in the heart of the Tasmanian Midlands dedicated to reimagining regeneration. We’re on a mission to demonstrate how private land custodianship, conservation, technology and sustainable business activities can come together for the good of all species. No two days are the same at The Quoin, which is why we’re on the hunt for a creative storyteller who can help us share our learnings and progress with fellow conservationists, nature-tech enthusiasts, land-owners and people who want to play a part in conserving our planet.
About WedgetailWedgetail is a venture conservation company dedicated to conserving and restoring land through sustainable investment. The Quoin is part of the Wedgetail family. It is Wedgetail’s demonstration property and research and development lab. The Quoin is where the Wedgetail team learns by doing.

About the roleYour monthly responsibilitiesBrainstorming story ideas with the Storytelling Lead and broader teamIdeating and pitching a month of social media contentLiaising with the team to collect photography and videographyVisiting The Quoin to conduct interviews, record B-roll and get footage of events and initiativesProducing and posting social media contentEngaging with our followers and responding to comments and queries (using your good judgement or running queries past the team)Keeping an eye on social media trends, pitching relevant ways to jump on board, and, where approved, getting the videos live in 48 hoursDeep-diving into the month’s social results and pulling out actionable learningsRepeat!
Skills and experienceAbout youYou know what makes a video compelling, punchy and shareableYou are passionate about natureYou’re incredibly curious and eager to learn about conservation and scienceYou’re good at simplifying complex informationYou are willing to put in the time to ensure your stories are both scientifically accurate and unbelievably interestingYou have end-to-end video production skillsYou know the ins and outs of video-first social media platforms (predominately TikTok and Instagram, and Facebook too)You’re an expert in what makes social audiences tickYou love keeping up with social media trends and pitching ways to get on boardYou have a strong ‘test and learn’ mentality to content creationYou’re comfortable working independently and remotelyYou take feedback in your stride and enjoy collaborating for a better outcome
RequirementsYou find social media content creation easy and enjoyableA proven track record creating shareable, on-brand Instagram and TikTok content (we will ask for examples)You’re located in TasmaniaYou have your driver’s licenceYou have (or are willing to get) an ABN and contractor insurance
BonusesScience-based degree or professional experienceScience communications-based degree or professional experience
Hours and salary16 hours a week$50 an hour or above depending on experience and background
